Beatrice Weder di Mauro

Beatrice Weder di Mauro is a professor of economics at the University of Mainz, in Germany. From June 2004 to 2012 she was a member of the German Council of Economic Experts. She was the first woman and the first nonGerman in the council whose responsibility was to advise the German government on economic issues. She has advised both the former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and the current Chancellor Angela Merkel. She also has advisory roles in several corporations, including UBS and Roche Holdings.
